At the beginning of the month, I had the pleasure of sponsoring cupcakes for ECHO's Big Day Out event held at The National Conference Center in Leesburg. If you follow my cupcakes on social media, you know I work with them pretty often or at least keep them very close on my radar. They have been incredibly supportive of my cupcakes and I absolutely love what they are doing for these wonderful humans. This was the first ever Big Day Out for their participants and I was so excited to be a part of it ♥
What started off as just me donating cupcakes for the big day, turned into my working a DIY cupcake decorating table. I've never setup anything with my cupcakes to be a DIY station so there was certainly a learning curve in estimating how much buttercream would be needed for this and toppings. Todd is my POC at ECHO and was the one to pick up all the fun topping for this. We're talking an assortment of fancy sprinkles, chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows! Leave it to Todd to think deeper on this and pickup some extra bowls and spoons for setting the toppings all out. Phew!! **wipes brow** Because why would I be that prepared?! LOL!
Getting to see the participants enjoying themselves was such a treat! There were Star Wars characters that came by. Super girl was there and so was Mirabel from Encanto. I'm a huge Disney fan so I was geeking out a bit(see selfie above) haha. The MC did such a great job of getting everyone dancing and moving. There was a pie throwing contest that Loudoun's very own Gary Clemens(Clerk of Circuit Court) and LCSO came to be a part of. Super messy, but fun! Such good sports. And finally, the Floss King himself came out and did his thing. Highly recommend hiring him for your next party. It's a whole show he puts on and it's fun to watch. I grabbed a short video you can see below in the video montage reel I made for this event below. Oh and I almost forgot - the ice cream sundae station! We shoved a cupcake in a cup and added ice cream on top... best idea ever! **chef's kiss** What else is there to say? Everyone was having a great time ♥

Before I wrap this up, I wanted to share something even more special about this. I asked my long time friend Monti Mercer, truly a pillar in the community, to help me at this event. He works for HHMI's Janelia Research Campus in Ashburn(also one of ECHO's sponsors) leading the Community Relations department that supports the campus’s philanthropy, outreach, and public engagement initiatives to expand scientific education and charitable experiences within the local community. He's also been on the board of a few non profits for the area. It's been such an honor watching him grow in his field over the years and seeing his passion for community involvement flourish just as successfully. In the last year we have ended up at some of the same charity events without realizing the other would be there. I decided for this event, we would make it intentional and he presented no hesitation in helping me out. Seeing MY friend glove up and start decorating my cupcakes with the participants just warmed my heart. I felt truly blessed having a friend of mine who has been with me since the beginning, now standing with me working a station for one of our beloved non profits. God has really placed some of the best people in my life and I am forever thankful for it. Cheers to you, my friend, Monti! ♥
And now please enjoy this little video montage I put together about the event. If you want to be a part of my charity endeavors, keep placing cupcake orders! Your continued support helps me continue supporting our community. Together, we can pay it forward one cupcake at a time. Order here ! ♥
